"I'm Just looking for a Vanity..."

When potential clients enter our showroom and their answer to "Welcome to Donatucci's. How can I help you?" is "I'm just looking for a vanity", we as designers realize we may be in for a bumpy road. You may ask, how can a bathroom cabinet or two be a challenge when we'll do an entire kitchen's worth of cabinetry and be as excited about the project as the client? The answer is simple. When looking for a kitchen the cabinetry is the inspiration for everything else in the project. The cabinetry sets the style and tone for the counters, flooring, backsplashes and all of the other elements. The cabinets spark the fire. Both the client and the designer are invigorated with that spark. Clients often walk into our showroom looking for that same project spark from the bathroom cabinetry. Unlike the kitchen, the bathroom cabinetry is just an instrument in the band, not the lead singer.

So what does this mean? We have more kitchens and bathrooms on display than anyone in the area. We have more inspiration. However, bathrooms require a little homework. It's like when you ask your spouse, your kids or a friend, What do you want for dinner? You never get anywhere without focusing on a concept! For dinner the concept might be burgers, pizza, Chinese. In the bathroom, it's going through photos, websites and having pictures to present your designer.

To do the bathroom right, all of the design elements must converge! We know what to do to get you where you want to be. We'll discern the tile inspiration, color tones, and textures that'll coordinate with your bathroom needs and measurements. Our experience and selection will work to deliver all of the larger elements (vanity for example) and little elements too (storage tricks of the trade).

Our website provides many photos. Magazines are always available that have the latest ideas. Dig for that bathroom inspiration!

What's your style?

Conventional Cabinets
Conventional cabinets are some of the more traditional bathroom vanities and are essentially bathroom cabinets. They're built like kitchen cabinets. Traditionally, they're floor mounted like base cabinets. They maximize storage. They can provide design flair in a contemporary, traditional or transitional, but are known for being the most functional option.

Furniture Style Vanities
Furniture style bathroom vanities can really give you some decorating oomph if you're looking for something special in your bathroom. These are the ones that look like other pieces of furniture, like a chest-of-drawers, buffet or other similar pieces. Some may sit on the floor or may have legs that raise it up off the floor. In most applications, you'll sacrifice a degree of function for art. In a high use bathroom and/or a smaller bathroom, the sacrifice of function may overwhelm any gains in art.

Integral or Vessel Sinks
You can choose whether to use a more conventional sink that drops down from the vanity top or add some decorative flair with a vessel sink. A vessel sink sits on top of the vanity, essentially like a bowl. Keep in mind however that this style raises the sink level and may also require different plumbing, such as a wall-mounted faucet. Like furniture style vanities, the art is at the expense of function. Clean-up from shaving or toothbrushing is certainly more of a chore on an everyday basis.
